23 year old man dies following Jomtien Beach shooting

PATTAYA:--A 23 year old man lost his life following a shooting incident on Jomtien Beach late on Wednesday Night. Rescue Services were initially called to the Thappraya Road where it intersects with Jomtien Beach Road where they collected the critically injured man, Khun Jirapon aged 23, who was rushed to Hospital but he could not be saved.

A friend of the victim, Khun Wirapon, also aged 23, described how the pair were part of a group of around 10 men who decided to choose Jomtien Beach as the location where they would celebrate the Loy Krathong Festival. Late in the evening two men arrived on a motorbike and parked on the opposite side of the road. Khun Wirapon and the victim recognized the driver, known as “Jack” as someone they knew and had previous disagreements with.

The two men approached the larger group and exchanged profanities, until the passenger on the bike produced a gun and shot once into the air. The group fled apart from the victim who approached the two men in an aggressive manner. The passenger then pointed the gun in Khun Jirapon’s direction and shot him in his chest.

The man known as “Jack” and the shooter fled and Khun Wirapon tried to take the victim on his bike to Hospital.
