I would suggest you get some sort of holiday insurance from your home country.

You can also check with Bupa, they have a special insurance for people staying here a few months but not on a permanent basis.

For travel, this is pretty good especially if you're surfing or on a motorbike. Rates are good IMHO

I use Bupa Blue Cross for me and my family. They have a variety of packages with different levels of cover and premiums. Whenever I've had to make a claim, I haven't had any issues.
