Tourists left stranded on an island in Chumporn have been rescued safely.

Officials last night managed to help 60 officials of the Metropolitan Electricity Authority stranded for two days on Matra (มาตรา) Island in Chumphon (ชุมพร)

Head of provincial fishery office, Meesak Pakdikong (มีศักดิ์ ภักดีคง), revealed that the center was contacted by national park officials in Chumphon archipelago that tourists were left stranded on Matra (มาตรา) Island, and that the officials were unable to anchor near the islands, due to high waves. The National park officials asked that the office bring out large fishing boats to help tourists.

Deputy head of the National Park, Apichart Sangpradab (อภิชาติ แสงประดับ) said that the tourists are officials of the Metropolitan Electricity Authority from Bangkok and employees of TPI. They came to the islands since February 12 and were rescued safely last night, all appearing exhausted.
