Given a number of quality flounces in the last week or so i think we should vote to nominate the flounce of the year.

the prize would ideally be given in absentia, however respecting the nature of the flounce, understand that the perpetrator may very well be here to receive it in person.

So, who flounced best?

Put your candidates forth, explain your reasoning for why the flounce is particularly artful and we can gather back here before the end of the year to determine a winner.

Flouncing is the ancient art of leaving a board, community, blog or Internet forum in the most dramatic way possible.

Whereas normal people who are fed up with a discussion or debate simply leave, flouncers need eternal validation. Instead of simply logging off, they must announce that they are leaving. Flouncing usually occurs when a wanke_r realizes that other people on the planet hold differing views.

• A Convoluted Flounce is a wordy diatribe in which the wanke_r must make it clear how everyone else is forcing them to leave, and that the wanke_r simply has no other choice.
  

• The Double Flounce is when a flouncer vows never to post again and never to return. They then return to announce again that they will never again return.
  

• The Triple (or more) Flounce is exceedingly rare, but definitely the most amusing.
  

• The Internet Suicide Flounce. Did they mention the first time that they're going to delete their journal/fanfic/fanart/blog/website? Really, they mean it. They're not only never going to come around here no mo', but they will commit Internet hara-kiri and erase all trace of themselves to show they *is oppressed*. Extreme flouncers will commit pseuicide.

When a member of an online community announces they are leaving, usually after a protracted disagreement with other members of the community.
