Can't help with the map but there is another place with much better khao soi across the street about 50 meters. It was a favorite of Thaksin if that matters any.

It may be called Khao Soi Faham. I'm pretty sure it is.

That's Khao Soi Samerjai (sp?) In my opinion Lamduan much better. It seems to be mostly BKK crowd that flock to Samerjai. They also try and sell everything rather than concentrate on the Khao Soi.

One is across the street from the other about 50 meters? or so. One is right next to Wat Faham, the other across the street. It's all a matter of taste I suppose. Don't go on a Saturday morning to the one I mentioned as it completely packed with BKK mini-vans and never a table on a Saturday morning. Both places close in the late afternoon and are closed at night.

I have been to the one next to the Wat, and dont know why it is so

popular, not very good in my opinion, there are much better Khao soi

places in Chiang Mai.

I agree, neither one are anything special but they get a lot BKK people there in mini-vans (especially the one I mentioned) because they are heavily promoted on Thai websites. The photos of Thakisn are amusing. The owners seem proud of the photos.

There are so many other khao soi places just as good if not better all over the place.

Khao Soi Faham might be popular with Bangkok Thais because years ago when the Royal Family came to Phuping it was widely believed that the restaurant sent khao soi up there on a regular basis.

It used to be considered the best in Chiang Mai.
