Gun found on Pattaya Beach during routine late-night Transsexual round-up

PATTAYA:--Pattaya Police along with Pattaya Police Volunteers conducted a routine round-up of transsexuals early on Monday Morning which led to a less-than-routine discovery of a handgun with ammunition on the beach.

20 transsexuals were arrested after the Police team conducted a sweep of Pattaya Beach from the Dusit Thani Resort in North Pattaya up to the entrance of Walking Street in South Pattaya.

Some officers were checking Pattaya Beach for any items that may have been concealed such as drugs but what they found in a brown paper bag came as a surprise.

Placed underneath one of the trees on the beach was a bag containing a gun and two cartridges.

you are right, its a 12 bore/guage cartridge. the guns are often referred to has "home made" but they are usually not, they are, however, hand made by illegal "gunsmiths" and very very common here. totally inaccurate as the barrel is too short, they are also lethal to the user as quite often the barrel is made from basic, over the counter pipe. I have seen many and even fired one, and if u imagine a blunderbuss with a shot spread of 120 degrees.. thats what u see.

Can you imagine the damage it would do, if someone came up along side you, on a motor bike and shot you with that? I have seen many like that in the news, so they must be quite common on the street. I wonder what the people that carry such things, are thinking. Do they really mean to use it, or just to impress their friends?

Unfortunately it`s quite common by petty criminals and other mindless idiots here until they can get their hands on a proper gun.
