But they want to build one. Last thing I heard was in the south close to a tourism area, direct on the beach (because of the cooling).

The idea was so stupid that I was first speechless and than I considered for 10 min if it is maybe just a weird joke to test my reaction.

So:

a) scare the tourists away

b )in an area with limited needs

c) in a fishing area

d) in a potential tsunami area

e) with the usual Thai corruption

They want to build more than one dear boy...but intrigued with your tsunami theory if said plant was built on the GOT coast....you do know the water is too shallow dont you ?

heard the iranians are building something on sukhumvit

I read [in TV?] that TH has 1 reactor. But it is safe, because no problem in the last 50 years. They have to build a new one, because the building company has no more spare parts for that old, absolute safe reactor.

Yep, there's one reactor on the 3rd floor (i think) of the atom research centre in north bangkok....

Don't worry: even Chernobyl wasn't Chernobyl.
