Due to my work rotation over the last 3 years or so I have never bothered to get my Non-O visa renewed. Was working a 4 on 4 off rotation. Now going to based in Thailand and have just entered and got my 30 days as normal.

Now my question is can the visa on arrival be changed to a Non-O without leaving or will I need a trip somewhere? I am married to a Thai, 2 kids...........

It can be changed to a Non Imm O Visa as part of the process of applying for a 12 month extension.

You must have at least 15 days remaining on your permision to stay and qualify financialy.

Either 400,000 Baht in the bank or 40,000 a month income.

Fee for convertion is 2,000 Baht.

Fee for the 12 Month Extension is 1,900 Baht.

Not all Immigration Offices will do this so you might be sent to Bangkok.

You can also get a 60 day extension at Immigration. This will give you a bit more time to sort things out.
