I'm not sure what they are, but I recall meeting a Brit guy a few years ago who had to have an identical pocket notebook to replace his current one, which had some sort of natural skin binding and was just about full. He found it, or something close it, at the Kinokuniya at Siam Paragon.

There are a few outlets in BKK that stock the budget range but I have not found anywhere in Thailand stocking the hard covers (heavy paper sketch books and water clour books in particular).

I bring mine in from the UK and indeed ordered half a dozen Moleskins ahead of my trip home for Christmas.
