Urgent Request - Trivial Matter: Parking My Car!

Featured Replies

Hope this is the right forum.

Only recently started driving in Bangkok again after an interval of many years. Heading downtown from the suburbs today to take my boy see a movie at Paragon and don't really want to deal with Sunday traffic and parking in that area if it can be avoided.

I was thinking about driving to or near a BTS and parking there. Anyone have any ideas where I could easily park near Wong Wian Yai BTS, Surasak BTS or somewhere away from Rajaprasong madness but near the BTS?

As always, I'm most grateful for people taking there time to share their knowledge.

Wong wian wai. Then park at the Mall Thapraw. Then taxi or tuktuk to the station.

Silom. Then park in the office building car park on the same road as Molly Malone's pub. The one at the top on the right . Sorry I don't know the name.

Whenever I come into BKK from the burbs, I come off the tollway at Sukhumvit 50 and park at the Tesco-Lotus, BTS station right there.

I'm not sure how much parking is available around the Wong Wian Yai or Thonburi station but definitely the way to do it. Alternatively go the Rama 8 and Petburi way and park at Siam Discovery - you only have to deal with the edges of madness haha.

My preference is the Rama 8, over the Yommarat flyover then turn right to Siam and straight into the citibank credit card parking - always near empty, do Thai people not like Citi? - then walk thru the car park link to Paragon.

This weekend is a Muay Thai weekend so don't do the route I suggested, apologies should have checked first.

You can normally find parking in the sois if turning left after Thonburi station. Obvious disadvantage of no security etc. Or you could make a day out of it, park at The Marriott now Anantara (or other hotel) and take the hotel boat over to Saphan Taksin.

The leather area (WongWin Yai) is mostly closed on Sunday so I would think parking would be easier than the rest of the week. We only go there to buy materials so I'm only guessing about Sunday. Anyway, we park on a road just after stairs up to the BTS driving towards Bangkok. There is construction on that corner and the wall has advertising for a hotel with a swimming pool and little water slide. We just park on the street. Sorry, I don't know street names, but 'My Condo' and 'Aiya Sports Residence' are on that road. We sometimes park in front of 'My Condo' on what looks like a walkway or just before it where some rusty metal posts are stuck in the ground. Don't drive very far down the street, it doesn't get any better. It's not a glamorous area.
