Garmin Nuvi 3790. Help!

Featured Replies

I am new to Bangkok, I have a Garmin Nuvi 3790 that I brought with me form the USA. I would like to buy a microSD with Thailand maps, but after going to MBK and BIG C, I have not been able to find anyone that can help me with this. If anybody knows where I can get this, I would appreciate the infromation. My ipad has maps, but it is all in Thai, and I can't change it to English either, so it doesn't help much.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Henry

Do you just need the Thai Street Map? Or do you need to mod the device to support Thai (UI, maps, spoken directions, POIs)? If the former, gpsunderground dot com and noemon dot org are popular forums. There are tutorials on Youtube as well re: adding a map. If the latter, there are shops in MBK that can mod your nuvi. I had a U.S. nuvi 1300 modded at a small counter shop, but it pretty easy to do yourself.

Call Gadgettrend Garmin at 02-719 27 87 or the manager 081-632 92 45. Their shop is at Nine (Rama 9 Road - the community mall on the left hand side some one mile after the intersection Rama 9/Ramkamhaeng) and their head office is at 1, Ramkamhaeng 24 Road Yaek 34-1. The latter's GPS would read N13 45.311 E100 37.708.

The manager speaks good English (Khun Nithipat)!
