The Railway: Kids & Car Parking

Can someone tell me at what age kids are required to have a ticket. We have two, boy aged 3.5 years and girl about 11 months. We are thinking of going up to Chiang Mai by train on the sleeper, 2nd class air. Would anyone know how the railway will ticket us? Also does anyone know of a railway station to the north of Bangkok where it would be possible to drive to, park the truck for a few days and then board the Chiang Mia train and leave the car head for a few days? I'd be happy to drive as far north as Nakhon Sawan. Mnay thanks and the seasons greetings

The kids will be free...no seat

don't be ke-nok, buy them seats and enjoy the extra space

Thanks for this....but the seats are big hey and the little one is, well, very small!

It may be best to buy another seat....get a lower and upper berth and then you have your own semi private space;

If willing to drive to Nakhon Sawan.

Drive a bit further To Phitsanulok,you can lock the truck and leave it in my garden.

Get the train from Phits.

Not worrying about your truck.
