Phronesis Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Dear All I have just established an online trading account with Bualuang Securities. It was a relatively painless process but there was lots of paperwork to sign. The application took about two weeks to process. Yesterday, I funded the trading account by going to a nearby SCB brank with my (very lovely) broker and she assisted me to make a cash deposit. Later that day the funds showed up in the Itrading online account. Today I spent some more time with my broker and placed a few "dummy" buy orders to check the platform is working. At first it was rejecting my pin number to confirm placing an order...but after some urgent calls were made...that glitch was removed. I have traded the ASX directly for over 15 years...with a few different brokers but mostly via commsec. I will be spending a good deal of time in the coming new year in an endeavour to get my head around trading the SET using the Bualuang Itrading platform. I thought I would start this thread as a Q and A reference point for any other TV members who are trading online with Bualuang. At this early stage I have a number of questions already. I would greatly appreciate it if any members can provide some answers: 1. NVDR same liquidity as Non NVDR shares? Ok...I have read the NVDR info on the SET website and I understand this concept. Put simply NVDR is a holding company that buys allocations of common stocks that can then be purchased by foreigners. I am a very pragmatic person and so my understanding here is as follows (if anyone knows something to the contrary please post). If I ensure that the NVDR setting in on when I purchase a share parcel via Itrade then (as a foreigner) I will receive the benefit of any dividends or other rights arising from those shares. My question is this if I want to sell a share parcel in a hurry, will the liquidity of NVDR be worse than NON NVDR shares for the same company? That is, does my sell order hang around longer because it has to wait for a NVDR purchaser? 2. Where on the Itrading platform can you create a historical price graph for individual stocks. I like to look at 5 to 10 year price charts. However the best I can come up with anywhere in the platform is a 12 month chart. If any one knows how to generate a long term historical price chart please let me know. 3. Does anyone know of a resource where you can create, or download a list of shares on the SET that have a 100% dividend payout track record. Thanks for any assistance...
jamesthailand Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 NVDR liquidity is the same as non-NVDR (for foreign shares, it's not, which is why NVDR was created).
fletchsmile Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 There's some software from Settrade.com that is useful called OneClick - free too - more info here use KGI as a broker, and when I log in I can then click on "OneClick" and access it. I rarely trade shares but find it useful for SET50 options as it has various useful trading tools. You can also place trades thru it, but I prefer to do thru the brokers system and just use this for info/charts etc. Sett trade OneClick" meaning Manual for Setttrade OneClickIf you click on select that it takes you to the manual I
