Hello. I want to buy a diamong engagment ring for my girlfriend. Dont worry, been here 10 years and I am no idiot. She is the girl for me. Im looking at spending around 50K Baht. I live in Hua Hin and im not sure of the quality around here. Im guessing there is an area of BKK that speacialises in this and will suppy quality?

Yep, gold is the thing here. Lots of fake diamond stuff about and folk know it.

OP, 50k is not much for a diamond of any worth here.

My pal deals in diamond stuff and he showed me a pair of ear rings for 180k.

Waste of money. Thais don't do the diamond engagement ring thing. When in Rome.........

I think what you mean is cubic zirconia. This is cheap as chips, and has even more brilliancy than diamond.

Zircon is a gemstone which is often purchased as a less expensive substitute for diamond, but it still has value.

Zirconium is the chemical element.
