PATTAYA:--2,600 Buddhist Monks and over 10,000 worshippers dressed in white, attended a mass merit-making ceremony held along the North Pattaya Road in front of Pattaya City Hall early on Saturday morning.

The event is held every year and collects food and other provisions for Monks residing in 323 Temples in the four troubled provinces in the South of Thailand namely Yala, Naratiwat, Pattani and Songkla which have seen a number of insurgent attacks over the years targeting monks, forcing them to remain inside their respective Temples.
