Any Truth To The Rumors That The New Years Holiday Will Be Extended?

One of the teachers I work with said the Wednesday and Thursday might become holidays too?

But that she had only heard on the news it was being discussed.

Does anyone know what's happening there?

Yesterday I asked when will the children go back to school?

Answer: not sure yet, Yingluck will tell.

Has the government never heard of scheduling? Probably a stupid question!

The problem with these last minute extensions of national holidays, wherein it makes the government look good to the general population with the 'feel good' factor, it has a large effect on companies that have planned ahead. For large companies and corporates, these are a nightmare.

If deadlines have been planned in, it will involve overtime being paid to get the workers in to meet the deadlines for testing, delivery, etc.

In the real world work and production goes on. Let people know in advance and less of this last minute BS.

I think such an extension would be unlikely. The previous government frequently extended holidays, but the current one has not done so to date.

I doubt that they would make Wednesday and Thursday a holiday, since that would effectively make Friday a holiday too.

Like I said, I don't mind either way I just want to know what's happening.

I'm sure I will be told at school but it never hurts to be ahead of the curve.

I've checked the key holiday sites and can only see Monday (New Years Eve) and Tuesday (New Years Day) as holidays which makes for a 4 day weekend. Even the BOT site shows only this.

I will check at the university Monday as it seems one of the staff mentioned 5 days.
