I Have A Non- B Visa, Looking To Change Category To Non-Ed Visa

Featured Replies

Hello I was wondering if anyone know the answer to this and the procedure i would have to take.

I currently have a 1 year non- B multi entry visa, not set to expire until july 2013. I will be starting university at ABAC next year in May. I need to get an ED visa. I was wondering if my non -B could be converted or swapped to the non-ed at immigration in Bangkok, i would have thought so seeing as i already have a non immigrant visa and i just want to change the category.

If anyone knows if this is possible and what documents i would need that would be great. Thanks in advance for your help

James

Your university should be able to tell you. Given that it is a university study and not a language school you should at least try.

(You ask for a permisison to stay to that of studying, you do not convert your visa).

Note that you don't need a an ED-visa till your current one expires, as you can study on a non-B visa.

If you don't want to do border runs every 90 days you should be able to get an extension of stay at immigration with no problem during the last 30 days of any of your 90 entries with proper paperwork from school.
