You are not paying attention.

That's only one of the cases being investigated, while PTP is busy trying to get a court ruling forbidding the anti corruption commission from doing so.

It is definitely good news to see something done about this social sickness.

Now will it bring result? That's another point. Maybe not but it's fighting the typical Alzheimer of the society we witness far too often about these practices.

In the long term it helps for sure.

Certainly a noteworthy corruption and bribery case involves the hit and run killing of a Bangkok cop and subsequent police collusion and obstruction of justice. If any case stands out as an illustration of Thai corruption, abuse of law, crime with impunity, it is this case of the reckless DUI hit and run Ferrari about three months ago. This news was all the rage for two or three weeks.

The suppression and blackout of all news since and the the lack of warrant and indictment follow up is at the top of the list of bribery and corruption, based on the initial news reports. It represents "newspaper complicity" in class and preferential treatment - it is a disgrace. This case is an obvious breakdown in Thai society and a stark illustration of bribery and corruption in Thai society.

And possibly this case of the Democrat MP charged with pre meditated murder and then...........

Will the House of Representatives lift immunity of a Democrat Party MP suspected of murder or will they protect him from just punishment? These questions concerned many as news emerged of Democrat MP Khanchit Thapsuwan being suspected of killing the president of the Samut Sakhon Provincial Administration Organisation, Udon Kraiwatnussorn, last Sunday, December 25th.

Udon, a political rival of Khanchit, was found shot in the head eight times at a petrol station with a .40 pistol. Following the issuance of a warrant for his arrest, Khanchit turned himself in to police two days later. He maintains he is innocent. Though reports indicate Khanchit is in possession of a gun of the same caliber, he has yet to surrender his .40 pistol for examination, ignoring a police request to do so. According to Pol Col Jamraeng, only seven people in Samut Sakhon are registered to be in possession of a pistol of that caliber.

Udon’s brother Udom Kraiwatnussorn, a former Pheu Thai lawmaker, filed a request with the Deputy House Speaker Wisut Chainarun to oppose legal immunity for Khanchit. Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung informed the House of the arrest warrant, adding that the evidence was clear-cut, as the murder happened in broad daylight with multiple witnesses. Furthermore, surveillance cameras show Khanchit entering the petrol station shortly before Udon was shot dead.

Khanchit’s father, Anek Thapsuwan, a former Democrat Party MP and Minister, said he believes in his son’s innocence and was not aware of any rivalry between the families. He also denied rumors of an alleged affair Khanchit had with an ex-wife of Udon.

The latest report from the Ag Bank which is handling this circle jerk, says they have issued 800 billion in bonds to finance this project. The current government has said the cost for this year and next years rice crops will be less than 600 billion. The amount orf rice pledged has increased from to a record production level for Thailand with less crop land, only about half the farmers participating, drought, floods, etc. The exporters, Farmers, numerous millers, opposition, and other related agencies have pointed out corruption, foreign produced rice being involved, etc.

The government committee which was tasked to investigate said corruption, was made up of personal recently released from the mental hospital ward for drug abuse, and they reported finding nothing but little orange pills lays around. OK may this is darkside rumor but my intial response can be verified if you are so inclined.

In your words and opinion. In reality, somewhere not often visited by some posters on here, this is what is happening :

"Some Pheu Thai MPs said earlier they would seek the Constitution Court’s injunction to the NACC’s investigation on the rice pledging scheme"

which by any stretch of the imagination does not translate into the "PTP is busy forbidding the anti corruption from doing so"

Any follow up?

Oh well thats ok then, the government has every right to interfere in a judicial matter. Obviously they have nothing to fear from the NACC's investigation.

Well if you had read your own quote you'd realise there was nothing to fear from the investiation as it will not be affected

Some Pheu Thai MPs said earlier they would seek the Constitution Court’s injunction to the NACC’s investigation on the rice pledging scheme, reasoning that the NACC is not in a position to do so since it is a disputant with the government.

Mr Panthep said the NACC is in the process of setting up a fact-finding sub-committee involving the allegations and the Pheu Thai’s move will have no impact on its work.

Mr.Panthep is the President of the NACC.

Obviously you have a difficulty recognising sarcasm.

PS: Why does the fact that the NACC is in dispute with the government preclude them from investigating the rice pledging scheme.
