Multiple Entry Non-Immigrant Ed Visa Coming To A End.

Featured Replies

I'm a Australian living in Chiang mai with a current Multiple Entry Non-immigrant ED visa that was issued from the brisbane embassy is due to expire on the 5th March 2013. The student visa was given for me to study Muay Thai, I wish to continue to stay in Thailand for at least another year and I have a few questions.

1. Will crossing the border say a week before my visa expires give me a hassle free 90 day extension as some posts lead me to believe? (effectively turning my 1 year visa into a 15 month visa).

2. As I wish to apply for another Multiple Entry Non-immigrant ED visa once my current one expires i've read it might be best to return to Australia to do this? Or would a trip to the embassy in Vientiane (Laos) be a good bet?

Any other information that might help me would be greatly appreciated and I apologise if these questions have been answered in previous posts but through some searching I found no answers satisfying.

Thanks for your time,

Ray.

Yes you can exit and return just before your visa expires and get another 90 day entry.

You will not get a multiple entry visa at any nearby embassy or consulate. You will need to make a trip home for another visa.

1. Yes.

2. Unlikely to be obtained anywhere else and may be an issue even in OZ.
