I expected lots of post about the New Years celebrations in pattaya, traffic jams, police checks, and so on, but its been very quiet here. I dont go into town when there are too many people, so Im left in the Dark.

You had power cut also

Excitement? Not a lot really. Just another NYE. Fireworks displays and some morons with fireworks in narrow streets trying to perforate peoples eardrums.

People back at work now so it seems to be the usual daily mayhem on the roads.

The best for me was seeing the genuine happiness in 2 sets of eyes. One was my g/f's as she has only ever seen fireworks at the Pattaya competition earlier in December before and the other was a young Russian girl sat at our table. She was 3 or 4 years old and her eyes lit up with pleasure and excitement. Her oohs and ahhs every few seconds were great

You weren't the only one left in the dark fakename, the whole of Walking St had a power outage soon after

midnight so all the celebrations came to an abrupt stop.

Everyone seemed to filter out on to the streets at the same time and South Pattaya streets were jammed with traffic.

So all in all a bit of a washout really.
