The thief got beaten up by by-passers after the victim's iPhone got snatched by this guy and passed to his friend who got away.

Mob justice. The Youtube title says the thief was Thai, but the top-rated comment was from an alleged eyewitness at the event who says the thief was actually Cambodian and had been regularly stealing phones from tourists near the Victory Monument until he finally got caught and got his comeuppance.

Was it just by chance that the person holding the camera phone was ALREADY taking a video when the commotion happened? It appears that he was filming straight from the top of the stairs.

One more thing...

Am I the only person annoyed by those portrait videos?

Portrait mode is cool with pictures but videos should always be shot on landscape mode if you have any intention of uploading it to Youtube.
