Could anybody help me understand the difference between

เอว which i am told means "want" or "take"

and อยากได้ which i am told means want. and google says it is "I have" and says just อยาก means want.

You เอว a noun.

You อยาก a verb.

Please help me understand เอว (เอว น. ส่วนกลางของร่างกายระหว่างชายโครงกับกระดูกตะโพก ทั้ง ๒ ข้าง). Thanks.

"Want" or "take" is เอา, not เอว.

The difference is that อยากได้ is "to want to have" (somewhat stretched, "to dream to have") while เอา is better used when you can replace it with "bring". E.g., when you are ordering something.

So in the negative ไม่ เอา would be used more oten that ไม่ อยากได้ ?
