One great area to see migrating birds is Thali Noi Lake in northern Songkhla, especially in January .... but I am sure there are other areas in Thailand...

Seems these are popular around Chiang Mai due to the sound they make. Personally I find them just noisy. Not happy about seeing them caught like this though, that is a capture cage. Canon S5 IS

With my camera this is one of the few birds I can get close to. Pass him occasionally on my Mt. Bike rides.

Seems to be a Pacific reef egret. It's in a classic crane like pose though.
