Tail-Tidy For 2011 Ninja 650

Featured Replies

Does anyone know where I can get a tail-tidy for the 2011 Ninja 650?

I was looking on e-bay, they're around 5,000 baht to order. Just wondering if they're any cheaper to buy here in Thailand.

Thanks,

Matt.

you can order from them, think they are about 3500 baht, good quality and nice design.

Excuse my ignorance but other than from an aesthetics viewpoint, what else does a tail tidy do?

Yes strictly aesthetics

A lot of money to spend for something that you won't actually see (presumably, the number plate will cover it up?)

Some folks bury the plate way in there

I am not sure which type you mean will get covered?

The main thing is just looks. Most sport bike folks like the high tail look

better than the stock hanging down rear

Although some bikes like this years N250 have already shortened that enough that it looks pretty good stock.

Personally I like a cleaned up tail too but do not like the mini turn signals many use that stick out the side anyway.

Look like they would snap right off if someone walking past brushed them

Here is the basic tidy tail that Mot-Play sells for the 650 aside a stock unit

This one looks like it uses the stock turn signals

Oh, I see what you mean. I can't honestly say I like the look better so I think I will save the money for other blings :)

Other than looking good, it reduces weight by a ridiculously small amount and ensures your back gets covered in crap when riding in wet weather. I did it myself on the Ninja but left the gsxr stock.

I certainly wouldn't pay for it, very easy to do it yourself but I also wonder if it's really worth it.

Yeah some of the prices folks pay in the US is nuts.

Because like Jonny said you can fabricate something if you want.

I doubt I will as the N250 this year has a very short one already

I would like more of a rear hugger though as the N250 has a short one of those too.

tire throws a lot of crap under the rear & a little onto the shock.

Not too bad now but rainy season would be
