Us Background Check For Korean Visa From Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

I'm a US citizen living in Chiang Mai, planning on moving to Korea in late April, early May. I need to get fingerprints for a FBI background check, and was wondering if anyone has done it here in Chiang Mai. I know the embassy doesn't do them anymore, and they were unsure of where to go to get them done. I have gone to a police station and they took my prints, but refused to sign any of the documentation saying that it was a legit source that printed me. Is there a place that has worked for anyone here in Chiang Mai, or will I have to go to BKK to get this done? Thanks!

I have been told by the embassy that Special Branch Police in Bangkok is where they have to be done. But you might check to see if SBP in Chiang Mai can do them.

Did you you get the fingerprint card required by the FBI.

Yeah, I got the cards, and the prints are on them. But the officers refused to sign them or generally have anything to do with the sheet other than help me put my prints on it. So I don't know it's legit or not.

They have to be signed/stamped. I think there is some kind of an agreement the Special Branch Police for fingerprints and the embassy.

You could call the consulate in Chiang Mai and ask them about getting the prints done.
