Italian Embassy Interview

A good friend of mine (young lady, 27 Thai) applied for a Schengen Visa to Italy, she was dumb enough to purchase the plane ticket in advance and also booked her hotels and paid for them.

She has been waiting for the results of her application and today was told that she was required for an interview next week, my question to the readers is

Is this a good sign or a bad sign? And what should she expect?
