so it's Ok for paramilitary police officers to be political but not actual military? OTOH I'm sure that he'll resign from PTP after he loses and goes back to his sinecure, where of course, he will be completely politically independent.

I think you'll find several military gentlemen have held the highest political office in Thailand over the years. I'm sure you're making a point, but I can't see what it is.

This afternoon, Pongsapat submitted documents to the Election Commission in an effort to clear himself of the above radio theft charge that occurred while he was a student at graduate school in the USA under a Thai government scholarship.

He claimed the charges were not true.

He's certainly stealing the place to be a potential governor from up and coming PTP candidates purely on the basis of being in the same class as Thaksin.

Next to that, Pongsapat delivered all necessary information to the committee authorities and shouldn't we leave it now to the legal system in Thailand to decide whether Pongsapat shoplifted a radio in the US 32 years ago or not and whether -IF he did so- it is to be considered as a serious crime or petty theft by a student?

By your previous standards, yes, it's still uncorroborated claim.

It's merely a claim "written in a rubbish second class tabloid newspaper" that the police committee exonerated him and even if that is eventually validated, it's not dissimilar to the army committee that exonerated Abhisit's army service, which was then subsequently overturned years later meaning it's arbitrary as to just how factual the police committee findings are.

Anyway, as your link reminds, there's a new specifically dedicated thread to discuss this new aspect of his candidacy if you wish to pursue it further.

After a resounding acclamation from Thaksin, I am now sure that Pongsapat is an upright citizen who has never paid for a position or promotion, or accepted a bribe, and that an asset examination would discover nothing unusual about his accumulated wealth when compared to his salary and declared taxable income.

I thought the public toilets were Mr. Happy Toilet's responsibility.

Public toilets, no floods, flat-rate for airco buses, BTS, non-airco busses free, incinerators to get ride of BS.

"Only in July 2012 PM Yingluck explained that BMA budget slashing was just an internal process leading to incorrect information. The lost budget is for projects according to the government's policy which is irrational to be cut."
