Renew Aussie Passport

Featured Replies

Hi all - does anyone know if I'm able to renew my son's Australian passport at the Aus Consulate in Chiang Mai ?

Can do at the conslulate in Phuket I see from the Aus Govt website.

If cannot do in C Mai has anyone done this in Phuket rather than wade through the traffic in BKK?

Cheers

Renewed mine in Bangkok wasn't aware you could do it in Phuket, that surprise me. I would double check that with a phone call.

Only honorary consul in CM.

Same in HKT, Larry Cunningham - Surin Beach.

Aus Embassy in BKK is best and may be possible to do by mail. Call them.

Call the Aust. Embassy Consular section in Bkk and ask to speak to one of the Australian staff.

Painless phone call, staff are normally very friendly, good listeners, and give clear and correct answers, options, etc.

I tried that before Rob and the answer was a definate NO,must appear in person for security reasons which I can understand Having to go to Bangkok makes its quite an expensive new passport. My photos I took were rejected as I had a slight smile on my dial which is a no- no they prefer you look like you have been dead for a few days. There is a photo shop nearby to the Embassy that charges about 4 times more than CM.
