If yur re-entry permit is valid till 15 feb, it means your permission to stay is valid till 15 Feb.

What kind of visa are you on, or are you on an extension of styay of a non-immirgant?

Your re-entry permit has the same expiration date as your current permission to stay.

So, before you leave, you need to extend your current permission to stay and get a new re-entry permit.

In that case you can apply for an extension of stay just before you leave on the 6th. You can get the extension up to 30 days early and it will start from the date your current permisison ends. Always best to do it a few weeks early.

In your case you get a 30 day under consideration stamp. At the same time get a single re-entry permit, which will be good for that time (Which should be early March). Should be no problem as long as you return to Thailand on time to get the final approval of the extension.

You need to update your visa before you leave or depending on what type you will have to apply for new one after your return has you will enter on a 30 day tourist visa. If you live in the greater Chonburi area go to the immigration office in Jomtien, the people right inside the door can help you. Be patient as sometimes they are overwhelmed but when it is your turn smile and ask your question....

you apply at an Immigration office not an airport, so Samut Prakan for an extension, a re-entry permit should be done at the same time, but if you forget the re-entry permit it can be done at the airport.
