Thai Visa received this appeal from the Police in the UK

Missing man - Tom Armstrong Police are appealing for information in relation to a 22-year-old missing man who is believed to be in Thailand. Tom Armstrong of Kelsale left for Thailand in April 2012 to take up a dive master course on the island of Koh Toa. During his time there Tom has been in contact with his family via email and Facebook. In one such email Tom stated that he would be catching a flight home on Tuesday 8 January, arriving at Heathrow on the morning of Wednesday 9 January. However, he did not board his flight and has not been in contact since. Tom’s family and police are growing increasingly concerned as to his whereabouts and are appealing for any information that would indicate where he is, and that he is alive and well. Tom is described as approximately 6ft 2ins, of medium build with fair, slightly wavy medium length hair and sometimes has a short beard, which is more red than fair in colour. If anyone has information that could help police with their investigations they are asked to contact the Suffolk Police on +44 1473 613500

Nothing new here but we have a phone number anyway.

Thailand missing man Tom Armstrong's bank account used

Money has been withdrawn from the bank account of a Suffolk man who went missing in Thailand earlier this month.

Tom Armstrong, 22, from Kelsale near Saxmundham, was due to fly home and arrive at Heathrow on 9 January, but he did not board his flight.

Suffolk Police said he had not been in contact since, while the withdrawal was made in the Thai capital Bangkok on 16 January.

Why wouldn't he draw money from his account needs to eat.

So it was him that withdrew the money then?

They would have had a CCTV at the ATM.

Shouldn't this be moved to the Bangkok forum if the guy was last heard from in BKK and has now withdrawn money from his account in BKK?

he went missing from suratthani provience cannot move posts around with the person in question. be constantly chasing the post round the internet but i ain;t a mod just my 2 pence

anyway he is not found yet so he could be anywhere

as for atm WD if there has been one with drawal then there should be more unless the pratts in his own country block his card which shall make it harder to find him

Not according to the original article. He was on a dive course in Koh Tao where he booked a flight home and then his family heard from him by email while he was in Bangkok, saying he had run into trouble. That suggests he went missing there and not in Koh Tao. I don't think it's that much trouble to move a post but it was just a suggestion to try and help his family get in contact with him. Not my call.

well, all's well that ends well, but the article does n't give any light as to the 6 week lack of communication between this guy and his family?

The trouble today is "instant communication" thats available through the internet.............facebook,twitter,email, and cheaper cell phone calls.Everyone expects intant communication and instant reply's,and panic when it does n't happen.

40years ago the only communication was land line phones(that were expensive to use)
or postcards and letters.Am sure parents still worried about their sons and daughters, but there was no recourse except to perhaps worry and wait for contact.
