Popular Post David48
Just for you DAL who thinks I never get down and dirty at the Farm. After the rain storm the other night, Farm Father was emptying a pond and moving the fish. He invited me along. in that mud ... shoes as we know them, were not an option. If you understand Racing Parlance, the track went from Heavy to Fast within 8 hours ... suck is the sun's heat and the composition of the soil. But I digress ... As this was the real action on the morning. .

Trust me, you dont digress and I always like your thorough reports. This is all part of farm life, I see you are chipping in yourself. With respect to MFG of course, who knows how to run a farm. The infamous mud shoes: Make them fit your size, first; Let them dry and apply more soil to your liking If the shoe fits!........

Popular Post Bodrules
Nice photos Shaggy, you and VillageFarang raise the bar quite considerably! I am going to try and attach a photo of my rather humble 13 sq yard 'garden' here in sunny SE England, basically I hobby grow stuff, as I've always done allotment gardening since I was a kid back in the [censored as too long ago] , this year I tried my hand at sweetcorn (total 18 plants, so small beer compared to you guys) and peas (good for fixing N into the soil), really a small contribution to the thread. A shot of Derwent Water in the Lake District, Cumbria, Edit: Okay that didn't work, is there an idiots guide to uploading photos etc to the forum somewhere? Popular Post David48
^^ Mate, your photos loaded correctly ... but you have a different system from that of villagefarang and Shaggy1969. They (typically) store there photos with a storage provider (maybe you have heard of cloud computing?) and their photos are automatically large. I don't do that and I upload my photos from my computer ... just like you did and when they are clicked from the 'thumbnail' size they are also large. You did the right thing ... no need to worry. Welcome to the Farming Forum ... .

Bodrules
Cheers lads, I'll check out the thread and see about trying to load from the cloud, as I usually store stuff in Picsa - just in case the laptop or mobile go walkabout...weird how it doesn't full size photos uploaded from your PC but does from the net, wonder why that is...ah well not a web site programmer so my xml and html skills aren't all that so probably any explanation will be over my head

Popular Post Bodrules
No worries shaggy thanks to you all for the welcome, with regard to the rice planting work that looks like an absolute killer after a couple of hours! Remember my mum going on about picking spuds on the farms up in Scotland to earn a few £ more, she said the first week of it your back feels like it has been dipped in molten iron The second week ain't much better Anyway, here's a couple of shots across Morecambe Bay, from the Ulverston side (birthplace of Stan Laurel, worlds shortest canal and Glaxo's factory in the 30's); Shot up toward the River Leven, looking at the railway viaduct Two swans err swanning about in the outflow of a tidal Beck (local dialect word for stream)

Popular Post RedBullHorn
Hi all, I'm back...been away harvesting my fishes and doing final pond clearing. Here are all the photos, don't know which one to upload so i uploaded them all. Harvest days - Wholesalers and suppliers. Pond clearing day. They cleared out 4 big ponds in just 7 hours and had a hearty feast. Wait...wait...more waiting... Divide and conquer... I control the engine, he take charge of the base valve clearing debris. Another man create the paths for waterways, the rest will catch the fishes. One pond's done, 3 more to go... 2 photos of the UIL using electrode after the team move on to another pond, what he gets he can keep. Most welcome... no hidden fishes to worry and no need to use poison. Feast Hang over this morning - All of us.
Popular Post Ron19
Have now put a cladding of hessian bags around each post of my dragon fruit setup. This is done beause the cactus plants are " Epiphytic " and their adventitious roots which can be seen in the photo's are used as support and to collect water and nutrients from their surroundings, enabling the plant to survive if the base is severed. This feature also allows the plants to be successfully grown from cuttings.
David48
RBH ... I really enjoyed your photo-set on catching your fishes.
