Tum mai dai !" Funny. Never seen her eat the stuff though Actually it's not bad... Goompa, no funny taste, ....as with some of the leaves the Thai's eat The kid that grows that sometimes sells to one of the local farang owned restaurants... where they make "spinach pie" it's actually not bad! So you had better leave all the weeding to the wifey.... then you won't get screamed at Those plants shown above are for seed collection... for next season.

Popular Post RedBullHorn
A 12kg giant devil catfish or goonch (sp.Bagarius yarrelli). Totally ugly looking fish that resemble a crocodile. Hence it is call Pla Khae (Thai ปลาแค้ ), short for crocodile fish as in Pla Jolerkhae. But !!! It has the tastiest flesh among freshwater fishes, even top the delicious Boal fish. A rare catch...A crowd gathered, if you're not quick enough someone else will bag it and just pay. Expensive too, bidding starts at ฿200/kg... I got it, all mine ! For ฿250/kg. Final bid... Edited October 13, 2013 by RedBullHorn

Hope this sketch helps...........failing that,it's the one that's on top when they are having their happy time Oh yeah...... it's the females that do all the quacking (sounds familiar) the males are more soft and whispery. David48
^^ DAL ... I really enjoyed that series of photos. I know it's not exactly Farm Photos, but, for me, certainly a series worth watching. And it's the commentary which makes it because it explains the story to me. I can sense, I can hear it ... I felt it through the photos. "chickens upholding their name" ... a classic line ... .

Popular Post samuijimmy
^ Cornishcarlos .... not being a duck expert, which are the Peking ducks?.... The white ones ?... Those are the ones I brought back from northern Songkhla several months ago as eggs...(they were supposed to be the Campbell brown ducks... ) Many disappeared a while ago, I never really understood where they went... it could have been they were sold off, this family really struggles with money sometimes... I'll probably do a Songkhla run come January... so perhaps can bring some eggs.... ? Since you are on the way! .... so long as you have a mother duck to sit on them! ---------------- Previous owner with two of the Campbells... I can't tell from this, if he's or shes... will go over and look closer! .... They sure will miss that big pond!

I can't tell from this, if he's or shes... will go over and look closer! .... They sure will miss that big pond! Yup, the white buggers... Females are, as Shaggy says, noisy... The males tend to keep quiet. Curly tails is the give away.. We are doing a little road trip through Trang, Had Yai and back up so will keep an eye out for duck farms. Have found a Sago worm farm in Tha Sala that I plan to visit, just to see how an insect farm works. No intentions myself
Popular Post samuijimmy
^ There seems to be many duck farms down in those areas.... so a matter of keeping eyes open, Carlos! Especially around Ranot, if you come up the coast road, from Hat Yai. Close to the ocean and near the village of Ban Khao... If you have difficulties finding PM me and I will give you a phone number of a local who will help. -------- I can't tell the difference, from the quacking .... they all seem to quack at once.... like the old ladies next door! .... also I can't figure out whether the tails are curved enough! I tried to get a side shot of all of them, but they were not co-operating so we'll just have to wait and see if there is any hanky panky! .... or quacky wacky! Anyway, after being given this little pond, a bit too cozy.... for more than two... I suggested using an old tarp to make a bigger pond ... so after about 15 minutes of digging a hole... the tarp was laid and filled with water! Not exactly as I had hoped it would turn out... but... Two Campbells being introduced to the pond! and here they go !... Peking ducks first... Then the new ones... Sounds like a sewing machine while they peck away at the rice!... at least that brought them all together! That white duck on the right concerns me, it has not had a lot of feathers in a while now... I just hope it does not have some problem that will get passed on

Popular Post cornishcarlos
Jimmy, I would say you got lucky and all those Khakis are female. Just judging by that last photo of em all eating. It's a photo thread, aggghhhhhhhhhhh... Ok, some rubber trees on my ride today The most popular collection method, though not the best return financially. Different method of collection that we don't see often. cornishcarlos
Nope you will just get tasty eggs I have a few muskoveys and at least 1 is always broody, so they act as incubators. I do have a home made bator that works great too.. All those ducks in the pic are chics. They separate them and sell off the males to unsuspecting mugs like Mrs Cornish
