Non-Immigrant O Thai Wife

Featured Replies

Hi, i got a Non-immigrant O thai wife visa on 21 feb 2012 now what i understand it's i have to get an extension of one year, do i need to provide all the documents like the first time and come with someone else than my wife ? Do i have to meet an immigration officer one month before the end of the extension ? Thanks a lot for your help ...

Are you really asking if you should go to immigration with your second wife rather than your legal wife?smile.png

You do not have to extend but that is an option available to you - there is no such visa by name so believe you have a single entry non immigrant O visa allowing a 90 day stay? In that case you visit immigration with less than 30 days remaining on your permitted to stay time to make application for extension. If you can qualify for one year (400k in bank 2 months or 40k per month income proof) you request a one year extension using TM.7 form and fee of 1,900 baht - if you can not meet those financials you can still octane a 60 day extension to visit wife using TM.7. Your wife must be with you and have her ID card/home register copies and marriage certificate/KR2 ledger entry copy as well as your passport/copies/departure card and simple map to home. You should also have photos inside and outside home together (at least one with number showing) and proof of where you live. They may visit you at home later and talk with others but normally only you/wife (children) have to visit immigration for application.

Your post is a little confusig. You say that you received aNon-O Thai wife visa on 21 Feb 2012. Was that a multiple enttry Non-O visa for visiting your Thai wife or was that an 1 year extension and you have been dooinbg 90 day reports? In either vase, you can apply for a 1 year extension at immigration if you meet the requirements outlined above. I don't understand your question about coming with someone other than your wife? Mia Anoi?

Assuming you are talking about a 12 month extension here is a rough guide but different Immigration offices will differ a little.

(6) In case of marriage with a Thai lady, the husband who is an alien must have an average annual income of not less than 40,000 baht per month or a money deposit in a local Thai bank of not less than 400,000 baht for the past 2 months for expenses within a year.

Letter from your Thai Bank showing balance and up to date bank book.

OR.

Letter from your Embassy showing income. Now may also need proof of income as back up.

Marriage Certificate

Marriage Registry entry.

Wife's Tabbien Baan and ID Card.

Your Passport.

Copies of everything.

Photos of you and your Wife in and around the house.

A map showing the way to your house.

Passport size photos and 1,900 Baht fee.

Take your Wife to be interviewed.

One or two witnesses may be required.

You will be given a 30 day under consideration stamp.

Go back in a month and get the remainder.

thanks to all of you for your answers, yes sorry i wasn't so clear, the third person i spoke about is the witness, i just came back from krabi immigration and it seems that for the second 12 months extension i don't need to bring one witness, i just come with my wife and the documents required.... Have a nice day smile.png
