ProdigalSon
Hi everyone. I'm currently having a house built and wanted to hear of your experiences (good or bad) with the tiling shops/designers/fitters that you used. I had a look in the Cotto shop on Nimmanhaemin the other day and was impressed with the range of tiles and design service on offer, but I'm guessing they are on the pricey side. What are the other places I should be looking at before deciding? The tiling will be in the kitchen, bathrooms and living room. Thanks in advance. onthedarkside
Yes, Cotto tiles cost a bit more but they are much more resistant to scratches and scuffing. I've bought cheaper tile brands - bad decision. Always buy Cotto now.

cmsally
When you check tiles also need to check whether grade A or B (some shops use other grading systems). Grade A generally finished better and consistent thickness & stronger more scratch resistant etc.

Rancid
Have yet to see a tiler lay those large tiles straight, might want to consider the smaller ones.
steve187
all tiles can be laid straight, get them to use a metal straight edge, laser and string line, i use a lot of cotto tiles in the uk, easy to cut and fix. make sure the tiles are not too slippy when wet
