Hello,

So I found a great room in Koh Samui very but there is no kitchen. There's a gas hob in the landing which they said they would set up and so I only need a coffee percolator be happy.

I'm looking for one like this - http://www.cheftalk.com/products/bialetti-6799-moka-express-3-cup-stovetop-percolatorit's

It would be amazing to get one with a plug on it and heating element that attaches to the mains but I doubt will find one here. Have tried Tesco Lotus (the big one) but they didn't stock them. Any advice is great appreciated.

Just spent a couple of hours going around Bo Phut that and Chaweng area and couldn't find one. Came home after getting a little red from the sun (I have fair skin ;p)

It seems there was another guy looking for a cafetiere on the other thread and has never found one here. I checked in Home Pro, Tesco, Big C and Makro and none of them had one.

While in Makro, I picked up a small sieve and as a cafetiere-size metal jug. Just now sitting down to have a fresh copy with it and doesn't work too badly. Might be a decent temporary solution for 160 Baht for anybody that has access only to a kettle or other hot water source in their room.

You can order one online through Amazon: http://www.amazon.co...ASIN=B00023XCV4

Buying an electrical appliance from north America is not a good idea, for use here .... I doubt these would take same voltage...or be dual voltage ... so beware!!! w00t.gif

I find it strange I saw them within the last week at Tesco and Big C, can't believe they would be sold out already ! wink.png

Some where in the 1500 baht range.... with glass carafe.... if memory serves they were made by Sharp. coffee1.gifwink.png

So, if the States are still 110 volt, your coffee will brew twice as quick.cheesy.gifsorry.gif

Bon Cafe (near the Go Cart Track) are doing . . .

1. Electric drip nylon cone thingy with glass carafe at 750 baht. Great value but I think only 2 cups. (It cost me 2,000B for a 4-cup one at Makro . . .)

and

2. Valentine's special (until end of Feb) 2-shot espresso-maker for 4,900! I'm not sure but I think it might only take coffee pods.

You'll need to check on these, as when I saw the espresso promo offered it was before the event and they didn't have any samples.

Tesco Chawang,, this morning has an Otto coffee maker for 400 and something baht..(maybe 490?) . last isle before the phones and televisions etc.... at that price I would not think it would last long... sad.png

Sirensen just up the road has Electrolux brand 1100 baht range ... two types

So that's 5 stores including, BonCafe, HomeMart, and Big C have them.... all within a short distance! All different price ranges.... wai2.gif

or you could just go buy a "sock" on wire frame at Makro for 220 baht.... that's what I use to make my tea !!! thumbsup.gif
