I have the fabulous Ipstar Satellite "BROADBAND". Pointed at the GREAT new satellite. I ran the test from NYC, Chicago and LA. Below are my results.

Download Speed: 223 kbps (27.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 85 kbps (10.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

Download Speed: 193 kbps (24.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 38 kbps (4.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

Download Speed: 43 kbps (5.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 89 kbps (11.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

Not exactly blazing speeds but if ADSL is not offered very interesting..

Any web links to the package they sell in Thailand?

How much do you pay? equipment purchase costs? etc?

Is there much latency? do you need a POTS line for the uplink?
