Honest Mistake From Immigration Office

Featured Replies

Recently I had the renew my passport, which holds my retirement-visa and a multiple -entry stamp , both were granted till the day my old passport expired (June '13)

After visit to immigration with my new passport, filling in application for renewal, made copies of pages with retirement visa stamp and another page with the muliple entry stamp, all looked well...

Next day I went to pick up my new passport, I found on the spot that my new passport had the new one-year visa till Nov.'13.. But they'd forgot to transfer the muliple entry stamp.

When I informed the officer, he simply replied : " I can not do anything about that, you can use both (old and newpassport ) "

But the multiple was resticted to date of expiring old passport..till June, while my retirement visa runs till Nov..

When I politely ask him what I could do, he send me to information booth..

Officer there told me I had to apply for new retirement visa...

Now I am wondering if airport immigration will make a problem of my 2 passports hussle next time..

Anyone has any expirience with that ?

Thanks

Suspect you need a new re-entry permit (not a new retirement extension) as that is never valid for longer than the stamp in passport and use of that re-entry permit would result in an entry less than your current extension of stay.
