Is This Muay Thai Video Real Or Staged?

Featured Replies

I had to laugh at the way the referee kept getting floored and getting up as though nothing had happened as for whether it was a genuine match I couldnt tell ya !

obvious fake. sort of thing you see in those rings they put in bars to entertain the tourists

Fake, My Grand ma could dodge those punches thrown.

The sad part is that they were probably real former fighters who retired with nothing. Even Buakaw--Thailand's superstar, was getting only a few hundred a fight during his prime--until he left his camp and became his own man. I've been training in Thailand for over a decade, and I've met so many cab drivers, moto-taxi drivers, etc. that were former fighters who had upwards of 100 fights and have nothing to show for it. This spectacle in the video is the "fighter graveyard."....btw...you can always spot the former fighters and trainers by how fat they are. All of my coaches had pot belly's like the guy in this vid.

it is staged. in the past when i stayed in a boxing camp in ayuthaya we had to give shows like that during various thai festivals. quite funny
