Visit A Casino And A Quick Border Crosiing

Featured Replies

I stay in Sriracha and have a multiple entry Non Imm visa. 90 days ends on 17 feb. I want to visit a casino with the Mrs and stay overnight and at the same time doing the necessary stamp out of Thailand, get cambodian visa and re-enter Thailand. My son will drive us there, so i don't need to know about the Visa runs from Pattaya.

I have read about Arranyapratet crossiing - and although i have been there before (about 15 years ago) - it looks like it can e a bit of a nightmare nowadays, i believe there are other crosiings with casinos, and would prefer one where i only need to do some walking, no taxis etc.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Maybe the Had Lek Crossing near Trat, the casino is almost across from the Cambodian Immigration

Aranyaprathet has a couple of big casinos, you don't need a taxi, they are less than 100m from the border. The Cambodian side of it is like the wild west, the other border I have been to is near Soi Dao, also the wild west but no casino there. Aranyaprathet also has a big market on the thai side of the border with the knockoff handbags and the other normal market stuff, but it is a lot cheaper than anywhere else. Many BKK traders buy their stock from that particular market.

And, at Hat Lek, when you cross over into Cambodia and obtain your visa, it's very common to be scammed by Cambodian Immigration.

The actual cost of a Cambodia tourist visa is $20-US or just under 600-Bt (best to pay in $US), but expect to be charged as high as 1500-Bt!

This explains why most Cambodia Immigration personal have nice cars and homes ;-)

Best to get your Cambodian visa(s) online (the e-visa is $25-US) prior to your trip. It will save you some time and money!

Yes, wise move to pay in US dollars, I did likewise had it all done online and then at the Cambodian Immigration office they charged an extra 200 baht admin fee. Was a hand written notice on the window. Just a dodgy charge to add to their coffers no doubt. That was at Aranyaprathet, can't remember the name for the Cambodian side of the border - happened to me July 2012.

Yes, at the Aranyapratet border there are a few casinos, however there are two border crossings near Soi Dao and there are casinos at the Ban Pakard/Prum border crossing as well.

Might try these guys???
