Exporting Cats From Thailand - Veterinarian Is Needed In Koh Samui

Featured Replies

Hello!

I came to Thailand with my 2 cats and I need to take them back to my home country. Thus I need all the paperwork to be done particularly the health certificate. I live between Taling Ngam and Lamai. A small vet clinic in Lamai recommended the Dog and Cat Rescue Centre, but it is located in Chaweng and there are too many dogs all around it and I am scared to take my cats there.

So can anybody recommend any alternative vet clinic where I can get all the paperwork, ideally in the South?

Thank you in advance!

There are no vet clinics in the south. Lamai is the closest. Once all vaccinations etc are done, you cats will still need to see the vet at either Phuket, Bankgkok or Chiang Mai for the final health certificate within 72hrs of travel.

Afraid you can only get it from Thai Govt Animal Quarantine. The airlines will not accept health certificate from a private vet. Plus, you need a government export license.

Animal Quarantine is located at Suvanabhumi airport in the cargo terminal area. Usually what people do is time their flight connections so that they have at least 3-4 hour layover in Bkk on a working day during govt working hours.

This is assuming your home country has no special requirements for letting pets in. Some do, in which case you may need to arrange lab work etc. and possibly even get an import license from the place you are going to. The staff at Animal Quarantine are familiar wit hthe various countries' regulations.

Sometimes the Animal Quarantine folks answer their email so you could try an enquiry to [email protected]
