Visa Question

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone

I'm new to the forum but not new to Thailand. I've travelled there afew times for holidays.

I need some advice on which type of visa to apply for, my situation is as follows.

1) I work for a UK based company

2) We have self employed staff who live in BKK

3) We have currently 15 companies that use our managment information software in Thailand

I've been asked by the boss if i would be interested in going to Thailand for 3 extended periods of 2 months at a time (2 months Thailand, 1 month Uk, 2 months Thailand 1 month Uk, 2 months Thailand) During my visit i will not be "working" in Thailand, as in gaining employment from a Thai company. The boss needs me to go there to visit the customers, carry out extened periods of training for the Thai staff and the companies that use our software. I'm sure that during the 2 month periods i will be leaving Thailand from time to time to visit other customers in S.E.A.

So, what in your opnion is the best visa to apply for?

Any help or advice appreciated.

Cheers

Steve

Any work you do in Thailand will require you have a Work Permit. It can only be issued in Thailand. You will need a B visa to allow you to apply for the work permit while you are here.

You should be able to get a 1 year multiple entry B visa in the UK without a problem. This would give you unlimited 90 day entries for one year.

Just have company write a letter stating your need for amultiple entry visa to visit customers and that company will be responsible for your expenses while in Thailand.
