Pattaya traffic is nuts

Featured Replies

Wanted to drive 4 km to Central Mall yesterday. Took an hour before I was parked. Followed GPS for best route, took me through the back streets from Thepasit. And this is low season and a weekday.

What's going on?

Move somewhere better. Patts is a dump.

  • and here we go again. The rantings of Thailand's most vocal unknowing budget traveler. 🤣🤣

  • it's a looooong 'weekend' the Bangkok Thais make their traditional pilgramage to the shopping malls of Pattaya and revel in recreating the gridlock of 'Grungthep' that they are accustomed to.

No need to include the word traffic in the headline. 😄

Okk, that's a good explanation.

Don't live there, just visiting. Happy to have it nearby for occasional visits.

Always the same for holidays, use a motorbike

Visit only when there are no holidays and no weekends.

Traffic is bad in Pattaya on a long weekend..... who woulda thunk it!

It was a Wednesday. I'm not part of the Thai workforce so don't really focus on work holidays. The Thais are constantly having days off.

Yeah, people employed here take the public holidays off work.

Shocking aye !

I had a great 5 day weekend with the use of 1 annual leave day.

Wait till you get a couple decades under your belt, you'll be anti social as me, and just don't give a sh!t about all the cry babies.

"How come, what if, what about" .... all presets to conversation you learn to avoid, unless really board, and you haven't finished your coffee yet cheesy

Oh crap, dog's staring at me, must be time for something.

Saved again 🙄

Patts is known for bad traffic and hookers. You live in the middle of nowhere.

Use a motorcycle when Prattaya is busy on Holidays , Bhudda days or weekends , dont bother with cars

Does not mean I am unaware of how it is.

You are right that Pattaya (There is no Patts) is known for those two things by a wide range of people. Probably just the ones you associate with.

For other people, Pattaya is also known for good nightlife, many bars and restaurants, beaches, international standard living, places to see and experiences to live.

It just depends on what person you are. You have already defined yourself!

Patts is known for bad beaches and slimey nightlife. Thailand has good food in many cities.

You are a desperate Swedish guy looking to put others down to feel good about living in Nakhon Nowhere.

Again, there are no place with the name Patts. No, it´s also known for good beach life and good nightlife. All is not bad. Again, it is up to the person you are and what circles you socialize in. You confirmed again. It just never fails!

Never contested that there are many places with good food in Thailand. What I posted was that different persons have different interests and social circles. Therefore, what you and your low-quality circle thinks, might not be what higher quality circles experience.

And no, no, no! I am not slightly desperate. However, Swedish I am. See even you get something right. Amazing! Yeah, I am also living in the countryside. That is by choice and much thought into it. I like to live away from the cities, smog and traffic as well as people everywhere. As we have opened both shop and restaurant, it´s also a better location for both Thai and international food as well as the shop with less competition. I get to sit do my work undisturbed every single day.

Besides that, we also got a rather big plot of land, where we already built a fairly big house and have big garden with swimming pool. After that our 14-year-old daughter already have a smaller house where she can relax and take care of herself sometimes. You know, like renting out your pool house. I go to Bangkok 1-2 times per month, and Pattaya about every second month. Also have a condo in Pattaya. So, no desperation here, dude.

As I said, it´s all about what circles you qualify to socialize in. 😂

No Patts is not a common nickname. Just used by a few deluded expats that thinks it makes them sound very experienced and like a person in the league of dreadful barstool alco´s. You know the hot guy with the right talk! Your social circle! 😂
