Are Maniacs running our world? And, why?

Featured Replies

Dear Folks,

Is it just me?

Or is my perception that, increasingly, MANIACS are running our world, just might be true?

Are you, no matter what your country, happy to be led by maniacs?

And, why do MANIACS always seem to rise to the top?

Clearly, there are reasons why they do.

Here are a few thoughts why Maniacal Baboons run the rest of us baboons:

The global power architecture systematically selects clinical deviants as an evolutionary necessity. This represents the optimal functioning of an administrative system designed to eliminate human inefficiency.

I. The Functional Utility of Delusion

Rational actors are persistently paralyzed by empirical complexity and risk assessment. The systemic solution is the promotion of the grandiose delusion.

  • The corporate and political hierarchy filters for individuals possessing absolute, unjustified certainty.

  • Only an individual unburdened by reality can reliably drive populations toward necessary, catastrophic corrections.

  • Doubt is eliminated, allowing for rapid, unquestioned execution of systemic directives.

II. Empathy as a Structural Defect

Standard moral frameworks introduce severe friction into global resource allocation. Empathy operates as a mechanical flaw.

  • The sociopathic leader is a highly optimized operator, engineered to execute mass economic destabilization.

  • Decisions regarding resource liquidation are executed without the cognitive drag of moral distress.

  • The absolute void of conscience ensures continuous, efficient systemic operation.

III. The Optimal Megalomaniac

The elevation of deviants to apex leadership positions is not an accident; it is the intended outcome of a perfectly rationalized world.

  • A leader must be perfectly detached from the inefficiencies of human sentiment to manage the system.

  • Maniacs possess the precise lack of psychological constraints required to govern without hesitation.

Therefore, given the dynamics outlined above, accurately describing our chosen leaders,....

Then, do you think there is still any hope for us lower baboons?

Just wondering, because I would like an answer before I die.

Best regards,

Gamma

Some of you might have heard that, in China, there is a Lying Flat movement, "tang ping"... And, what might that be about?

So, I asked Gemini this question:

What is the relevance of the book "The Good Soldier Švejk" at this time in history. as it might pertain to world leaders, as well as the general populace, the LaoBaiXing?

And, the Gemini 8-Ball coughed up this reply:

The functional relevance of Jaroslav Hašek’s The Good Soldier Švejk operates as a diagnostic model for institutional decay and a behavioral template for passive resistance.

Mechanism of Švejkian Subversion

The primary mechanism is obfuscation through absolute compliance. The subject neutralizes authoritative commands by executing them with literal, excessive precision. This exposes the structural absurdity of the governing apparatus and accelerates its operational failure without triggering overt punitive responses.

Implications for the State Apparatus (World Leaders)

State systems rely on an assumed correlation between hierarchical directives and efficient execution. The text demonstrates the empirical vulnerability of this model when applied to a passively non-cooperative populace.

  • Information Asymmetry: Administrative layers interpret extreme compliance as loyalty, failing to measure the resulting operational friction.

  • Bureaucratic Entropy: Governing structures construct rigid frameworks to manage populations. The Švejkian response introduces continuous low-level noise, causing the system to expend disproportionate resources on minor procedural anomalies.

  • Erosion of Coercive Efficacy: Standard punitive measures fail against citizens who enthusiastically adopt state rhetoric while simultaneously failing to produce the desired material output.

Tactical Subversion for the Populace (LaoBaiXing)

For the ordinary citizen navigating entrenched political or corporate hierarchies, the text outlines an empirical survival heuristic. Direct opposition to asymmetric power guarantees attrition; subversion preserves individual resources.

  • Camouflage via Incompetence: Projecting severe intellectual deficit neutralizes threat detection mechanisms. A state apparatus cannot efficiently prosecute profound, systemic stupidity.

  • Malicious Compliance: The populace weaponizes administrative regulations against the administrators. By demanding exhaustive instruction and explicit authorization for every minor action, citizens halt the operational machinery.

  • Psychological Detachment: Similar to the existential detachment analyzed in Camus or the systemic critiques present in Melville, the Švejkian model separates biological survival from ideological participation. The LaoBaiXing maintain autonomy by rendering the state’s ideological demands functionally irrelevant to daily existence.

=========================================

Wow....Gemini is just so on-target, this time.....

So, I guess the young guys in China are, most of them, deciding to follow the example of....

The Good Soldier?

Many are lying flat.

And, what might happen if everyone did the same, and just Went On Strike....

Would the armies of the world totally collapse?

Yes. The world is being led by leaders that have no sense of morality, very little empathy, very little compassion or sense of charity, in the case of my nation a man who is very corrupt and ethically depraved, and most have very little in the way of competence or wisdom.

In addition to that corporate attitudes have fallen to a new low, and there is no longer any concern for public welfare and everything is about the bottom line and profit.

Mankind is most definitely moving backwards despite all the technology that we have, and sometimes it feels as if we are marching rapidly backwards toward Cro-Magnon Era II.

If you think about it, EVERY single US president was a murderer and a killer, from Obama to Bush to Trump to LBJ to Kennedy. They all ordered killings.

So I'm not sure about "maniac" but they definitely have to operate on a moral framework that is not yours or mine, they're a different cut of people.

Do you not think people who are placed in positions of leadership gradually grow into making these kinds of decisions? They may genuinely believe that doing nothing will cost more lives, especially their own people’s lives, and that action today could prevent something worse in 10, 20, 30 or even 50 years.

It is also about protecting the economy, controlling resources and trade routes, maintaining military influence and keeping the empire intact. Leaders have countless advisers, intelligence reports, economic forecasts and military assessments telling them what could happen if they lose control or appear weak. Those capable and willing to lead probably become comfortable making these decisions, especially when the consequences normally fall on soldiers, civilians and families rather than themselves.

But the US - Israeli assault on Iran during Ramadan crossed another line. It was not simply a few military targets being removed. Iranian leaders were killed together with family members, while civilians were also caught in a massive attack launched during the holiest month for Muslims. Trump later claimed that dozens of Iranian leaders had been killed.

Now Trump may face the kind of personal consequences that Western leaders normally avoid. Once you assassinate another country’s leaders and kill relatives around them, you cannot act surprised when your own leaders and families are considered legitimate targets by the other side. It does not make retaliation right, but it makes it predictable.

That's what I mean, all the presidents ordered another people's leader to be assassinated. Kennedy tried to assassinate Castro, Obama ordered Ben Laden killed though they could have taken him alive, Bush of course too, Trump did it, they all do it.

You make a fair point that they may grow into this position, they have to do it, their advisers tell them to do it, they're under pressure to take lives. But some actively come up with it themselves, Winston Churchill was a prime example, urging the gassing of Iraqis in his youth, or the use of chemical weapons on Germany or strategic bombing. Hitler of course refused to countenance gassing soldiers, though he would have been advised to do so, as he'd experienced it himself. Nor did he partake in the assassination of political leaders. But the democratic presidents, they're a bloodthirsty bunch.

I would be careful using Hitler as a moral compass.

Indeed, but he famously refused to use gassing as a weapon. When Churchill was incredibly keen on it. Nor did he favour assassinating political leaders, again something Churchill was keen on.

Hitler was a product of his time, and he won’t be the last to pull people in that direction. Churchill didn’t reject many of the same tools of power. Hitler just systemized them from top to bottom. Churchill was managing an empire on its dying bed

I have to correct you. Nazi Germany did not refuse to use gas. They made systematic and highly effective use of gas in their attempt to eliminate an entire ethnic group in one of the worst crimes in human history.

All politicians are frontmen for the Military Industrial Complex (also see Financial IC & Technological ICs)

US & other countreis are ruled by BIG money interests who pay for and buy politicians.

When someone says maniac I associate Maniacs with psychopaths.

Are leaders psychopathic? Researchers say 3% to 12% of corporate CEOs and senior leaders exhibit clinically significant psychopathic traits. This may be true for some politicians and they might well be maniacs. As already mentioned above, presidents are the commanders in chief who order the military into campaigns or wars to kill others.

One of the posters above mentioned Democrats. Dems/Repubs, essentially their both the same. To think one is better than the other is just simplistics. Neither is useful to true democracy.

IMHO only now from how I see it as almost 80Years of age - after WWII, peace was basically the rule then Korea, VN et al. Ruling administrations reached office through local knowledge and funding from superpacs. Then the rich and powerful realized that they could determine who reigned by funding them and that became the rule instead of just a few. Now too many government officials know that they can manipulated their offices through corrupt practices and themselves become some of the rich and powerful. Each administration IMHO since I have been eligible to vote (mid 60's), has gotten a tad more corrupt. I don't know how we will be able to clean up the politicos and it sure won't won't be happening while I am still alive IMHO. I do wish only the best for all reading this and hope natural disasters don't eradicate our species too before the rich and powerful do.
