Traditional Street Photography

Featured Replies

Sorry, no pics to post myself but for those interested in the subject I can recommend a good free exhibition at the Bangkok Arts And Cultural Centre with them currently having a Street Photography show on. Some interesting, funny and thoughtful shots including a pretty contemporary looking set from 1958.

The Centre also has some other good galleries and is prob the best example of the Thai's copying a big Western idea (contemporary art centre) I've seen for a while. The actual building itself is very good too, it's form and function combine in a very satisfactory manner. Location wise it's right opposite MBK so easy to get to and completely free.

As from the get go on this topic, I have never understood the "traditional" part of Street Photography... and looking at some other photo sites I do not see that term used....

I don't understand it and I don't wish to, regardless of Wikipedia has to say. coffee1.gif .... I'll stick to the Street and Road photography from now on....or place a photo in an appropriate thread..... wink.png

Re: Vivian Maier.

There's a new web site of her images - http://www.vivianmaier.com/

Awesome imagery and totally inspirational, even more so qhen you consider she was an amateur photographer who actually spent her working life as a nanny. The way she captured life on the streets is phenomenal.

In my opinion, she was THE ultimate street photographer.

Enjoy

I've never once found a hat here in SE Asia that fits my massive head. Not once and I've looked too.

Yes, he's simply awesome. It's not just content, light and compositions which is outstanding, it's his consistent high level post processing. Quite amazing really.

Classic traditional street photography.

Big, massive crop on this hence a lot of loss in clarity.
