NEW DELHI, INDIA (BNO NEWS) -- A six-year-old girl was raped and physically brutalized last week before being dumped on the side of a street in northern India, local media reported on Friday. It is the latest incident in a series of brutal sexual assaults that have shocked the nation.

The latest incident began at around 7 p.m. local time on Sunday when a 6-year-old girl was abducted while playing outside her house near the town of Kapashera, located southwest of the capital New Delhi. She was found about three hours later on the side of a street, crying and in a pool of blood.

The Times of India, quoting police sources, said the young girl was found by a motorist who informed police. She was rushed to Safdarjung Hospital in a critical condition with her intestines partially damaged and her genitals suffering from major injuries. She has since undergone a number of emergency surgeries.

One witness told officers that the girl was seen with a man in his early twenties, but the newspaper said it is possible the girl had been raped by more than one person. The victim of the brutal attack has not yet been able to provide a statement and police said there have been few leads to work with.

The assault comes less than two months after a group of men brutally gang-raped a 23-year-old student inside a moving bus in New Delhi, prompting nationwide protests to demand justice and better protection for women. The victim was initially said to be in a stable condition but she later suffered severe organ failure as a result of serious injuries to her body and brain. She died at a hospital in Singapore on December 29.

I believe the tragic gang rape of the 23 year old in India was that country's " Rosa Parks " moment, in regards to sexual crime. I sincerely hope it is, and it's now up to the Indian justice system to get it's act together and hunt down the perpetrators of these horrific crimes, and bring them to justice quickly in all cases, not just the high profile cases.

I hope this little girl receives the best medical attention and makes a full recovery.

Unfortunately, unlike Thailand it appears as if a lot of folks in India are just downright offensive and others are afraid to say it do anything so India is well beyond the just tolerating offensive behaviour stage.

I thought India was a cesspool while I was there 10 or so years ago and appears not much has changed.

Unfortunately, unlike Thailand it appears as if a lot of folks in India are just downright offensive and others are afraid to say it do anything so India is well beyond the just tolerating offensive behaviour stage.

Unfortunately, it does seem a lot of the problem may emanate from a societal view that women maintain a less than human status in India. They are simply treated as garbage and discarded or dumped into the street. Massive failure some where.

Gentleman, as the smiley denoted it was a tongue in cheek comment as to how wonderful it would be if we could identify, the murderers, rapists and pedophiles etc etc.

Now if you want to discuss eugenics then Hitler's horrendous attempts on that front will fall in to insignificance compared to what Bill Gates will achieve! India, is a society where girls are simply not wanted in poor families, a society that accepts that if a family is poor or of the wrong cast, girls can be sold into prostitution as young as 10. The world governments are the only ones that can do anything about the problem by putting trade embargo's on India until it does something profound to address the horrific human rights violations that exists daily. The 6 year old is one of many that have had their lives completely wrecked before they start. I find it difficult to comprehend the mental state of a group of men that could gang rape a child and the evidence of the physical damage they were doing to her young body would have been completely apparent, and at no time did one of them say stop! So yes, if there were a machine that could positively identify such sub humans and administer the disintegration ray then show me where to send a development donation.....note... lack of smiley this time !
