Posted (edited)

.I have completed the 1-year Thai Language program at Chiang Mai University and would like to go on studying there. The administration told me they need 3 more students in order to open the 2nd year course. If you are interested, tell me.

  • Location: Chiang Mai University, Language Institute.
  • Duration and length: One year, with some holidays. The timing of the holidays can be adjusted by the group (teacher and students). Basically involves 216 hours of instruction (6 hours a week during 36 weeks). Lessons will be on 2 or 3 weekdays in the morning. Lessons are expected to start beginning April 2013 - provided that there are enough students.
  • Program: Consists of everyday Thai language with a good balance between speaking, hearing, reading and writing. The content can be adjusted between the students and the teacher.
  • Teacher: Kewarin Sukket (Kruu Kae). Some details on the teacher can be found in the attachment. She likes bringing the students together outside the classroom (going to the cinema, going to the market, making food together, visiting Lanna-culture festival, etc). The group of students will be limited to 5-8 persons.
  • Requirements: Having studied Thai at least one year (The teacher will assess the students level before enrollment, including speaking, hearing, reading and writing abilities).
  • Tuition fees: BHT 30,000 (inclusive of visa costs).
  • Visa: If you need a visa, the university will prepare documents for a student visa (non-immigrant ED visa)
  • Certificate: The student gets a certificate at the end of the program, provided that they have attended the lessons regularly.
  • Contact at the university:
Karim A. Hussain, Head of Foreign Affairs
Language Institute, Chiang Mai University, 239 Huay Kaew Road, Suthep, Muang, Chiang Mai 50200
