Yingluck Urges Public To Have Confidence In Government Plan To Address Power Issue

Well of course Myanmar could just ignore the preventative maintenance for a few years, especially this year as it appears by the earlier commencement there may be a little more work required. Then when it all goes belly up with no notice you will be pleased!! Once again of little impact on the rural communities who are already equipped for regular outage due to weather conditions, guess the country will save most by cutting the power to the cities where possible, welcome to the real world guys......but don't let that stop you moaning at the government......of course we could push for a nuclear power station on the outskirts of Chian Mai....and on the eastern seaboard to supply Pattaya and Bangkok smile.png.....to safeguard your air conditioned bliss as it were.

Once again of little impact on the rural communities who are already equipped for regular outage due to weather conditions,

Mind telling us where these rural communites are that are already equipped for regular outages? They are certainly not here in Esaan.

Nor down here, and it's a weekly event in the sticks. AKA rural communities Edited by Mosha

I noticed she didn't mention what her own Energy Minister gave as the solution yesterday....

some nice dirty coal burning...

Thai minister favours coal power as solution to demand challenge

.

Seeing this face of my OWN ANCESTOR RACE, ... I feel so ashamed to say, that this resembles a typical Thai-Chinese facial expression: Smiling in your face, STABBING YOU IN THE BACK!!!!!!

STABBING THE NATION IN THE BACK....

I wonder what is the real agenda here.

Oh yes, of course. Coal fired power plants are much cheaper. There is an abundance of cheap lignite with low calorific value and high sulphur content.

We need to create a diversion to scare people about energy shortages, so the public will accept the construction of more coal fired plants.

If not, people will listen to the liberal do gooders who point out the damage to the environment and the harm to local villagers' health.

By drowning out these traitorous liberals we can make a sh*t load of money from the construction of these polluting power plants.

To hell with the health of the peasants. They are not part of our immediate Chinese clans or even Chinese at all. They are.....well..... just peasants. So why would we care about them?

Even though we kill them, they are still stupid enough to vote for our popularist measures and the stuffed effigy of our Dear Leader, who actually died of prostate cancer in Dubai 5 years ago, before they die.

Then they will be replaced by their children who we guarantee to keep stupid by making state education stick to low value added rote learning. They will also vote for us in exchange for a few crumbs before they also die of respiratory diseases.

Meanwhile nothing but the best for our kids. A Ferrari at age 18 to kill cops with and an education at one of those state colleges in the US that admit lazy rich kids from overseas to subsidize the reduced fees they are forced to charge to in-state students.

And so on and so forth.

Thai Government's strategy:

1. Talk, talk, talk and envision so called measurements to the public, that will never happen or work anyway

2. Let the crisis happen, let the nation suffer.

3. Once it happened, blame the Myanmar people, pointing fingers at the Nation for using too much energy, by practically saying, "We warned you so, so it's your fault."

4. Crisis over, PAY COMPENSATION, practically saying, "THANK YOU, everybody, for covering our blame..."

I am waiting for an email from a Nigerian scammer stating:

Reserve your power now for the blackout during April. Send 10,000 baht to the following bank account number and we will insure you your power will not be cut.

I would certainly have confidence in the government plans if they ever HAD a plan that served the public and was successfully carried out.

Like the water management was successfully carried out. Our PM is really on top of things.

It's an annual Myanmar gas fields maintenance thing right?

So why have they not got it covered for this year like other years have been?

Could it be they have spent the money feeding cronies and rice pledging schemes,

and the loans they can not service, and they electrical system is treading water,

because their floating contingency accounts have been syphoned off for other projects,

and besides no one was looking and this all 'snuck up on them quiet like'.

Sorry, this is just one more example of the rampaging "Ineptocracy" running Thailand.

Personally I plan to start topping up my generator gas tank in march or sooner.

-sleep.pngsleep.pngsleep.pngsleep.pngsleep.pngsleep.pngsleep.pngsleep.pngsleep.pngsleep.pngsleep.pngsleep.pngsleep.pngsleep.pngsleep.pngsleep.pngsleep.pngsleep.pngsleep.png-_

But deeper, it could also be psychological manipulation, to convince the public to

let the government do somthing VERY big, that benefits certain parties very big,

and 'allegedly' will help prevent this 'public power problem' again.

Can't make people accept pain, unless they've had a taste of it first.

Gee wiz who might have interests in huge untapped gas fields

that need shifts in sovereign thinking, to let go forward with partners ready to go

but who are sometimes seen as blood enemies, but; 'Hey, public we need the gas so bad',

folks come on get onboard!

No one could be that greedy and cynical in Thailand government control?

Could they?

Hell yeah they could!

There is without a doubt large generators able to run the whole place for days,

and more than enough time to reroute flights for safe destinations.

True, true, as long is the UPS is connected and the generators petrol reservoirs filled ... whistling.gif

"2012-06-22

Deputy Transport Minister Chadchart said that the UPS supplying electricity for the radar system experienced problem on Thursday evening, and the back-up power supply was not working. Engineers took around 40 minutes to repair."

Well, yes but international airports have to have international governing body checks,

and blind spot checks regularly or landing rights are withdrawn.

Even the most despotic and criminally greed sociopaths can only slightly get around that.

But didn't both electrical back-up systems for the Air Traffic Control RADAR fail last year leading to about 50 redirected flights whilst they tried to get the control tower back on line, taking about an hour so to do?

Let's pray you're right,....

.... but so what if the passengers land, if there's a blackout across the entire country, the whole tourism industry is gonna suffer big time, where there's no functioning water pump, people can't shower, and it's gonna be really hot during this Songkran period.

I mean standing the heat is one thing, but without water, is another thing, and more dangerous... Communication down, because no electricity for internet is also very critical, too.... What a crap load of Easter holiday vacation it would be for the unwarned tourists....

And talking about that, tourists might even cancel their trips to Thailand IF it really becomes a serious issue, which is very likely in a face-saving society like in Thailand...
