February 24, 201313 yr I am 37 and from the UK. I have a bachelors degree and am planning to do a tefl course, then go to Thailand on a tourist visa and look for work teaching English. Hopefully ill find work then get a work visa to stay. My husband is 43 also from the UK but has no degree as he has always run his own business. Can he join me on a spouse visa if I find work as a teacher? I can't seem to find anything about spouse visas that makes sense!
February 24, 201313 yr If you have an Extension of Stay from Immigration based on your employment your Husband can get the same Extension as your dependant. Have a look at 2.6 and 2.7 for You. 2.20 for your Husband Police Order 2008.pdf
February 24, 201313 yr He could always enrol in a Thai language school and get Education Visas. He would only have to attend a few hours a week.
February 25, 201313 yr I am on a spouse visa for years.My wife is a teacher.have your original marriage cerfiticate stamped by your embassy in Bangkok make a copy for Immigration.done.
February 25, 201313 yr Author Brilliant advice guys. Is he able to work on a spouse visa or would he need to apply again seperately? I'm hoping he might be able to teach English if he does a tefl course even though he doesn't have a degree?

I'm hoping he might be able to teach English if he does a tefl course even though he doesn't have a degree? He would need to apply for a visa abroad. Without a degree he will not get a teaching license or waiver, meaning he will be restricted to teaching at language schools etc. Not regular schools.

If you go this way I am sure that you would have to have the marriage registered at the MFA and get the document, then you could apply
February 25, 201313 yr I haven't been watching the teaching forum lately so not sure if I'm saying what's all been said before, but in agreement with Mario: My g/f, who has been teaching here for 7 years officially and 9 unofficially, and has no degree, just got turned down for a visa extension. They have become very strict on no degree/ no pink card from the TCT.
February 27, 201313 yr I have a similar question. I'm form Europe, my girlfriend is Indian, she's about to get a Non B Visa based on documents form school and than an extension based on a work permit. My Non B extension is about to expire. If we get married will I be able to apply for some kind of dependent visa? What is the application process like? I'll be here on a 30 days stamp form the immigration at the airport or on a 2 months tourist visa. Doe's the fact that we have a child together change anything? thanx!
February 27, 201313 yr If married, you can be a dependent of your wife when she has a 1 year extension of stay based on employement. You simply show that your wife is legally working her and has an extension of stay from immirgation and that you are legally married. For this you will first need to apply for a non-immirgant visa abroad, with the help of paperwork from her employer confirming your relationship and her employement status. Having a child with ehr doesn't count.
February 27, 201313 yr Thank youSo once she gets her visa and extension in order to apply for a non immigrant visa I need to go to her employer for some documents or a copy of her work permit is enough? I can't see how her employer would confirm our relationship status - this I guess I need to do myself by getting a marriage certificate right?
February 27, 201313 yr You apply on the grounds of your relationship. You need to prove it. 2.20 In the case of a family member of an alien who has been permitted temporary stay under clauses 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.5, 2.6,2.7, 2.10, 2.12, 2.13,2.4, 2.15, 2.16, 2.17, 2.21, 2.22,2.26,6.29 of this Order (applicable only to parents, spouse, child, adopted child or child of his/her spouse): Permission will be granted for a period of not more than 1 year at a time. (1) The alien has obtained a temporary visa (NON-IM); (2) Proof of family relationship; (3) In the case of a spouse, the marital relationship shall be de jure (legitimate) and de facto;
February 27, 201313 yr Yes, the marriage certificate will be an important facot. But if the employer can write a small note, it will help you in geting the visa in a neighbouring country.
