Yes it is helmuth, no he has an adominal aortic neurism. Blood clot in the stomach and they need to operate. Thanks for spreading the word.

A specialist centre for RH Negative blood is the Central Blood Centre on 02 686 2700 one of the facilities they can offer is to call registered blood donours http://www.centralbloodregister.com/index.php I hope you get the blood.

An old German guy needed the same type a while ago. It took weeks for them to get blood and he passed away right after the -not free- donation. Will check on a friend who offered blood at this time.

Please keep us up to date, it's difficult as only 2% Thais do have this type if blood.Hope it works out. More important is to make sure that he's in a single room, as some "ordinary" rooms are full with all sorts of virus and bacteria.

Unfortunately the "universal donor" for blood transfusing is O- the majority of people on earth have O+, which is not

compatible with the negs....and O- is quite difficult to find. I wish you all the best with locating some. Aneurysms

Please call the tourist police in Ubon- 1155. Spoke to one of them, but he seems to be busy. ( off duty) They know so many foreigners and if many of us will call them, they'll actually do whet they're supposed to do.

A teacher at my school has this type, will see him tomorrow. Keep you informed, please let us know when you found somebody.

I have RH O- blood. I was taken ill a few years back and 3 hospitals that I was shifted between ran out ofmy blood too.

In the end my family managed to source at the US Air Base in Utopao, Sattahip (not free though). She also put a ticker tape message on Pattaya TV. Try any of the bases that have US service on duty.

I contacted the Phuket Regional Blood Centre and asked if they could transport blood to Ubon and the answer was no. Blood donated on Phuket is distributed to Krabi and Phangna only. As stated above A RH- blood is in very short supply and is always needed locally. The blood centre did say that Bangkok should be able to supply blood to Ubon so maybe concentrate your efforts there.

Ubon blood bank's always a little slow. Even if they order blood from Bangkok blood bank it could take many weeks.

Seems that foreigners helping foreigners is the best option. Hope the donation will be there in time.

i was told that in emergency situation + can donate to -, along with O+ being able to donate. if you can not find A-, i am willing to donate. I am A+. I do live in bangkok though. If you know of a way to get it there fast, I will donate, no problem at all. I did just have surgery 2 weeks ago, so i do not know if that will cause a problem though.

Why not pay a air/plane ticket for the donator to come to the hospital, then there will be no waiting for bloodtranportation. If it is very urgent that would be worth it. I am pretty sure most farangs have plenty of time to go.

O negative in Bangkok, is there time and would it help?
