Anyone Else Have Firefox Problems?

Featured Replies

Laptop running WIN Vista 32bit, firefox 19.0, all the sudden about a week ago, browser just displays a blank "new tab" screen. Home page, bookmarks and manually entering a website address results in the same. Nada.

Uninstalled and installed, worked for a while then started again after a few hours.

I then updated Java to the latest build and version and ensured the Mozilla family box was ticked in Java control. Still nothing.

Reverted to using IE for now. Anybody else having issues?

TX,

J

sorry using 18.0.2

why not go back to a previous good version instead of the latest.

Just tried 17.0.1 I had laying on a removal HD, same issue. I think it has something to do with Java, or Java helper add-on. I'll keep going down the list. Thanks Beano.

There was a new release of Java (jre-7u15-windows-i586.exe) that I got on the 23rd ~ 3 days ago.

So try a "System Restore" ~ go back to a restore point before that date.

Roger.

Just uninstalled my expired Panda AV program, restart, FF works.

Now have my new Panda box product, which was in my household goods shipment, been unpacking for days and getting my ofice/man cave set up. Lazy as the laptop CD is tits up, so have to copy over to R-HD on another system, then load. Doing now, hope this does the trick, thanks all.

Hi, I have a Sony VAIO LapTop VPCF21Z1E.

Firefox, any version runs like a dog.

Chrome (I hate it) runs OK so I'm forced to use it.

Does anyone know if it could be Java?

I suppose I could reinstall FF and check it out, but I'm lazy.....smile.png
